It was inevitable CBS would be biased given the fact that an analysis by the Media Research Center revealed:
● 85% of CBS’ news coverage of the Harris-Walz campaign has been positive.
● 81% of its reporting on the Trump-Vance ticket has been negative.
Americans shouldn’t have counted on the hype that CBS’ debate moderators, anchor Norah O’Donnell and “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan would be fair.
This is why the two are the recipients of CleverJourneys’ October 2024 FAKE NEWS HALL OF SHAME.
The real name of the husband of moderator Brennan is Ali Iyad Yakub, a Muslim born to Syrian parents who wrote a 2005 paper for Miami University titled “The Islamic Roots of Democracy,” arguing Sharia law embodies “justice and tolerance.”
Brit Hume, the veteran newsman with Fox News, called out what he saw after watching the recent vice presidential debate, “The moderators were obnoxious and made it feel like three on one on Vance.”
Many CBS News and other Big Media followers, accustomed to lies and propaganda, may no longer be capable of discerning truth.
Legacy Media knows withtheir viewers and readers, they can do whatever they want.
This was especially predictable during the CBS News broadcast of the JD Vance-Tim Walz debate of October 2, 2024, but there was 43.2 million viewers witnessing what was going on.
Similar to the Donald Trump-Kamala Harris ABC News debate debacle the previous month, more viewers and even mainstream media noticed just how biased the CBS fiasco was.
Even the liberal New York Times released a column from Ross Douthat entitled “Vance’s Dominant Debate Performance Shows Why He’s Trump’s Running Mate.”He wrote:
Vance’s performance has included a dose of self-conscious humanization, an attempted reintroduction to his blue-collar background and striking personal biography after weeks of effective Democratic attacks on his right-wing podcast commentary. It’s included some careful rhetorical tap dancing and policy jujitsu on issues like climate change and abortion. But mostly it’s just been an effective prosecution of the case against the Biden-Harris administration, focusing relentlessly on encouraging viewers to be nostalgic for the economy, the immigration landscape and the relative foreign-policy calm of Trump’s term.
Even Fox News’ Laura Ingraham called out the “smug, arrogant bias” of the moderators.
“Almost every question was designed to make Republicans look bad, slanting Trump’s views on childcare,” she said. “And yet Vance seemed to take it all in stride. And he really, I think, with most questions, really showed his humanity and also his knowledge of the issues.”
The CBS News’ activist debate moderators allowed Minnesota Gov. Walz’s myriad of lies about his military service to go unaddressed during the only 2024 vice-presidential debate.
While finding time to ask dishonest questions about baby-killing and Jan. 6, neither Norah O’Donnell nor Margaret Brennan bothered to ask Walz about how he regularly inflated his rank and lied about details surrounding his time in the Army National Guard to boost his political career.
Scott Jennings,a senior CNN political commentator,stunned the establishment mediawith hisLos Angeles Timescolumn, “JD Vance won the debate with Tim Walz, hands down.”
“Vance delivered in spades,” he wrote, continuing:
On issue after issue, Vance delivered smooth, well-constructed arguments while Walz often answered haltingly, like an online video struggling to buffer on a slow Wi-Fi connection. There hasn’t been a vice presidential candidate this out of his depth since Adm. James Stockdale delivered hisfamous ‘who am I and why am I here?’ linein the 1992 campaign.
It is becoming so predictably noticeable that when Walz embellishes and lies about his past, one would think he had learned his lesson by now.
Maybe his thought process was that he felt safe enough to do so again with O’Donnell and Brennan at the helm, when Walz literally said his son “witnessed a shooting at a Community Center.”
He was referring to a January 18, 2023 incident when after a fight outside was followed by another fight in which a recreational center employee was allegedly “punched” by teens and “felt threatened.”
Minnesota Star Tribunenoted, “Gus Walz was in the building when the shooting occurred in the parking lot at the [recreational center].”
However, when Walz mentioned the shooting at a September 12, 2024, campaign stop, he described things differently. NBC MiamiquotedWalz’s September 12 comment as, “My own son was in a location where someone was shot in the head.”
Sure, there is going to be concern and sympathy, but America is realizing his embellishments and lies are false.
CBS claimed that their moderators would not be fact-checking like the ABC moderators (who earned theFake News Hall of Shame in September) did.
The problem with that pledge, is that there was fact-checking against Vance when they called him out on their climate change claim.
He didn’t take the bait and answered with facts and reality. Then when they opinioned that Haitians in Springfield, Ohio, were in the U.S. legally, he attempted to set them straight.
“Just to clarify for our viewers, Springfield, Ohio does have a large number of Haitian migrants who have legal status, temporary protected status,” Brennan said.
“The rules were that you guys weren’t going to fact-check,” Vance reminded them. “And since you are fact-checking me, I think it’s important to say what’s actually going on.”
While explaining the process of obtaining legal status and tying it to a Harris-backed immigration policy, the moderators again spoke over Vance, thanking him for “describing the legal process” before they cut off his microphone.
Vance, explaining how the law actually worked was cut off by Brennan, who announced, “The audience can’t hear you because your mics are cut.”
While interviewingKarl Roveon Wednesday, FOX News’ John Roberts noted that Brennan was “condescending” during her fact-checking of Vance.
ROBERTS: All right. So there you had three things happening. First of all, the fact check, JD Vance, when they said that they weren’t going to, then they cut the microphones just as it was getting good. And then that was a rather snide, condescending sneer I thought that Margaret Brennan had when she said, “Thank you for explaining the legal process.”
ROVE: Yeah. No. The major dominant media didn’t look good last night in this regard. And you know — make up your mind, you’re either going to fact check or not fact check. And if you do, fact check, at least pretend like you’re, you’re doing both sides because there were things that the Governor Walz said that were clearly not accurate.
“Once again another major media outlet embarrasses themselves on a debate stage,” Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., wrote. “In just the first 30 minutes of the CBS debate the moderators have already offered two gratuitous editorial statements, (one of them misleading), taking a shot at JD Vance under the guise of ‘fact checking’.”
“CBS literally cut off @JDVance’s mic mid-sentence as he was trying to fact-check Tim Walz. They’d never do it if the tables were turned,” Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah said.
“Margaret Brennan interrupting JD Vance technically correcting her false fact check of him is a terrible look for @CBSNews,” conservative strategist Brad Todd said. “They just cannot help themselves. Democracy Dies in Muted Microphones.”
