What happens if you don't answer the door for FedEx? ›

If you missed your delivery, we'll leave a door tag for you. It has a number that's associated with your package's original tracking number and the steps you can take to locate your package.

FedEx Standard Overnight – delivered the next day, before the end of the day. FedEx 2Day AM – delivered the second business day before noon. FedEx 2Day – delivered the second business day before the end of the day. FedEx Express Saver – delivery depends upon location, but usually between 2-4 business days.

At a local FedEx facility means that your package has arrived at a local FedEx facility and is awaiting the next steps to move toward its final destination. If your package status is 'At a local FedEx facility': Your package is still on its journey.

Packages are scanned at various points between pickup and delivery. The frequency of scans varies, and it's not unusual for a shipment to go more than 24 hours without an update while it's on its way to the final destination. This is especially true during periods of long travel.

If no signature is required, the shipment will be left at the recipient's door. If a signature is required, the driver will typically try to deliver the package up to three times.

If I missed a delivery, how do I know when you'll reattempt to deliver my package? We'll reattempt to deliver your package the following day. Generally, we make deliveries from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday–Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday for residential deliveries.

Choose FedEx Express when you need it there fast, with delivery by a definite time, and you're willing to spend a little more. FedEx Ground is a good option when saving on shipping costs is more important than shipping speed.

In a word, yes. Express shipping is faster and costs more than expedited shipping. Usually express shipping (which is sometimes called overnight shipping) delivers in one or two days. Expedited shipping takes somewhat longer, usually about two to three days.
